Dusheti, Georgia: In Dusheti municipality, the Director General of the National Agency for Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia, Tea Onian, visited the Mutso Historical-Architectural Museum-Reservation and Monument of National Importance – Castle-Village of Shatili.
At the Museum-Cemetery, along with the Director General of the Agency, Gia Tikurishvili, Head of Monitoring Service, Head of Monument Rehabilitation Service, Head of Museums and Museum-Cemetery Service Lela Baramashvili, Chief Architect-Restorer Lasha Shartava, and Chief Monitoring Service Specialist Nikoloz Zazunishvili were present.
Rehabilitation of the Mutso Historical-Architectural Museum-Bunkery was carried out in eight stages at different times, and the following works were carried out: to set up a three-foot truck-bike road, to clean the debris from the stone and soil. Preparatory works made it possible to start the rehabilitation process.
The hedge trusses are fully restored with the selected pine. Fabricated, installed, and refitted oak doors and mirrors, fully reinstated stone staircase, skirting with coarse pine glaze. The belt of the castles was arranged with antiseptic wooden thorns, drilling and attaching wooden stumps using the method. Ruberoid was laid on the roof seals, with the material attached to the object earlier. It was made with clay and covered with a pickle. Also, on the first floor of the garbage dumps, the floor of the Fikali is the solution of Kirdughabi.
Currently, in the territory of the Historical-Architectural Museum-Bahn, the rehabilitation of the Castle of the Infertile Castle is underway, with wooden scaffolding, the walls of the tower are restored with siped stone, and the middle floor cladding.
The future rehabilitation plan includes the restoration-strengthening-continuing the conservation process and other infrastructural works of individual historical sites in the Mutso Historical-Architectural Museum-Sanctuary.
During the visit, the plan was to build a pathway on the perimeter of the museum-conservation, install/install safety rails, place signs and stamps, build a path to the shrine, install lighting points, and equip the museum-conservatory surveillance cameras.
During his visit, the CEO of the agency, Tea Oniani, together with the staff of the agency, visited the nationally important cultural real estate in Dusheti municipality – Castle-Village Shatilis, to get acquainted with the development and the works carried out by the agency in 2022, which included roofing several towers.
As of today, the majority of historical sites require rehabilitation. Castles and towers have damaged the roof, middle floor cladding, and toilet.
The Director-General of the National Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and the heads of relevant services have planned the rehabilitation of the monument in order to keep such an important cultural heritage monument intact.
