Samtredia Municipality, Georgia: The Construction of the water supply system is actively underway in Samtredia. In relation to the progress of the project, the mayor of Samtredia, David Bakhtadze, held a meeting on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
The meeting was attended by representatives of local self-government, heads of the Imereti region and Samtredia service center of the United Water Supply Company of Georgia, as well as representatives of companies performing the works.
The Samtredia Municipality City Hall shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on Saturday, August 23, 2025. The City Hall also shared some information related to the discussions held at the meeting, along with its highlights.
According to the information shared by the City Hall of Samtredia Municipality, it should be noted that the project details were discussed at the meeting. The Mayor of the Municipality, David Bakhtadze, made specific remarks, exchanged detailed information, and planned further steps.
Within the framework of the project, it includes:
• Complete rehabilitation of the existing main landfill;
• Rehabilitation-construction of 15 km highway pipe and 60 km water supply network;
• Joining of more than 2,500 houses and more than 15 multi-storey buildings on the system;
• The exclusion of the population.
The project will be implemented with the funding of the Georgian Government and the support of the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW).
During the meeting, the importance of the project for the local population was highlighted. The officials noted that the new water supply system will significantly improve the quality of life in Samtredia.
In addition, in the near future, the construction of Samtredia wastewater treatment, 148 km of water lines, and 46 km of drainage network will begin.
