The Minister of Infrastructure, Revaz Sokhadze, met with deputies, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund, Beka Urushadze, and Director of the United Water Supply Company, Giorgi Shonia, members of the Association of Builders, and representatives of field construction companies.

Representatives of the construction sector received detailed information about announced and planned tenders.

The tenders of the Municipal Development Fund include the construction of parks, rugby and technical stadiums, the rehabilitation of cities and resorts, the renewal of the cultural heritage of Abastumani, and the rehabilitation of part of the old district of Rustavi. Construction and rehabilitation of schools and kindergartens are also planned.

The United Water Supply Company plans to build a network of wastewater treatment and water pipelines in 12 cities, including Van, Baghdati, and Samtredia. Gurjaani and Tskaltubo water supply projects are being developed simultaneously.

According to the minister, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia plans to strengthen the water supply sector by engaging international companies, sharing their experiences and practices.

Revaz Sokhadze also emphasized that quality and transparency are a priority for the Ministry of Infrastructure. “The decision to move on to project projects, which temporarily suspends the announcement of tenders, is aimed at improving the transparency and quality of the process.” All tenders will be held transparently and fairly. On the other hand, construction companies should not take on more commitments than they can, the minister noted.

According to Revaz Sokhadze, the Ministry of Infrastructure, together with the government, will promote the development of Georgian companies as much as possible; the private sector is a guarantee of the success of the state.

The meeting was held in an interactive format. The Representatives of domestic companies expressed their readiness to cooperate and shared their views with the Minister of Infrastructure and heads of broadcasting organizations on ongoing and planned projects.

The minister said that similar meetings with the Association of Builders will be held regularly, and with non-member companies, if desired, individual cooperation will be made.
