Rustavi, Georgia: The Prosecutor’s Office has charged one person with facilitating the illegal purchase, storage, and sale of a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs.
The Georgia Prosecution Service shared the details of this heinous crime through its official Facebook Page on April 16, 2026, Thursday. It is worth noting that the police department of the Ministry of Finance’s Investigation Service of Georgia conducted an in-depth investigation into this case.
Cause of charges
According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, it was revealed that the accused contacted an unidentified person through social networks and promised to facilitate the sale of a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs on the territory of Georgia. The accused illegally purchased and stored, in a particularly large amount, 4.7744 gr. of the narcotic drug “Alpha PVP”, in several places in Rustavi, packaged in ten pieces.
Additionally, he stored 13.65 grams of “Alpha-PVP,” packaged in 35 pieces, in a special hiding place in Tbilisi. The law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount, totaling 18.4244 grams. Narcotics were seized from several locations in Tbilisi and Rustavi.
Criminal charges laid against the suspect
The detainee was charged under Article 260, Part 3, Subparagraph “a” (illegal purchase/storage of narcotic drugs in an especially large amount) and Article 260, Part 6, Subparagraph “a” (facilitation of illegal sale of narcotic drugs in an especially large amount) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for a sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
Based on the prosecutor’s motion, the defendant was sentenced to imprisonment as a preventive measure. The Georgian prosecutor’s office is pursuing a strict criminal policy against drug dealers, which it will continue to do in the future.
