The Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia, Giorgi Dgebuadze, opened the meeting of the European Affairs Commission of the International Union of Notaries on April 17, 2026, Friday.
Giorgi Dgebuadze noted the importance of holding the meeting of the European Affairs Commission of the International Notaries in Georgia. “Georgia hosts the commission meeting for the first time, which once again emphasizes Georgia’s growing role in the international legal and professional sphere,” said the deputy minister.
The participants of the meeting were also addressed by Ekaterine Nandoshvili, President of the International Union of Notaries, David Figuera Marquez, President of the European Affairs Commission, and Valentina Rubalteli.
At the academic session of the European Affairs Commission, member states of the International Union of Notaries discussed a number of important issues, including security and reliability of real estate registries, legal security and effective protection of citizens’ rights, the central role of notaries in the fight against money laundering, notary in the digital age, integration of modern technologies and the profession Evolution of uli standards.
Together with foreign colleagues, the event is attended by the Deputy Minister of Justice Merab Turava and Tamar Zodelava, representatives of the Ministry, heads of the CPS, members of the Board of Notaries, Financial Audit and Disciplinary Committees, and notaries.
The meeting of the European Affairs Commission of the International Union of Notaries is held in Tbilisi on April 16-17. 44 representatives of notariates from 25 countries attend the commission meeting.
Holding the meeting of the European Affairs Commission in Georgia is important in terms of deepening international relations. Such meetings contribute to the harmonization of legal frameworks of different countries and the development of field cooperation.
