The Georgian Minister of Culture, Tinatin Rukhadze, during his working visit to France, inspected the rehabilitation works carried out in the Georgian homeland of Leville.
The Ministry of Culture of Georgia shared the glimpses of the rehabilitation works carried out in the Georgian homeland of Leville, on its Official Facebook Page on April 21, 2026, Tuesday. The Culture Ministry also shared a small note about the works along with their glimpses.
So far, a significant part of the works in the homeland are completed, in particular, the buildings of Chateau, the so-called Orangeria, and Hamo, Colonel Tsereteli’s house, library, administration building, and gallery of the homeland were rehabilitated. Also, a Georgian vineyard was built on the territory. At the same time, the arrangement of the traditional Georgian Odi and Kitchen building, where the Georgian restaurant will be located, is coming to an end.
The project of infrastructure and electricity supply of the Levili Georgian Motherland Park is actively underway. Outdoor toilets and irrigation systems are being built; drainage and sewerage systems are renewed.
Works on artists’ ateliers, inner roads, parking and footpaths will be completed in summer this year, and by September the Chateau will have an exhibition space dedicated to the First Republic; a library, its storage and media room; a French garden and a gift shop in the entrance building.
“A lot of work has been completed in Leville’s homeland. I think that this year we will officially open the Georgian homeland of Levili. This will be a place from which Georgia will once again reaffirm the great importance of its culture, history, and identity, – said Tinatin Rukhadze.
Together with the Minister, the Ambassador of Georgia, the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the French Republic, Irakli Kurashvili, the Mayor of Leville, Eric Brev, and the members of the families who signed the act of transferring Leville’s motherland to Georgia inspected the ongoing works.
