Georgia: A working meeting was held on the placement of Georgian Ode House in Levili’s homeland on 8 November 2024, Friday.
As it is known, according to the Sanitary Act signed in 2016 about the conditional transfer of Levil’s homeland to Georgia, the Georgian state should place a Georgian Ode House in the homeland park.
These and other obligations under the Sanitary Act must be fulfilled by September 2026. That’s why the rehabilitation and reconstruction process in Levili’s homeland continues quickly.
The Georgian Ode House Park headed the meeting led by Nino Chipashvili, Director of the Museum of Folk Guides and Presence of Georgia and Levil Museum. Zaza Jolokhava, co-author of the Oda House project, and Teona Melitauri, the local manager of the Leville Museum, also participated.
According to the project approved by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia in 2022, the placement of the Georgian Ode House in Levili’s homeland will be completed in the summer of 2025. The architect-restorer, Tariel Kiparoidze, wrote the project.
On the territory of the Georgian homeland of Leville, until September 2026, a Museum and Archive Space, Library, Conference Hall, Media, Georgian Ode, and Georgian Vine will be built.
In 2022, the former Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia, Thea Tsulukiani, and the Minister of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, Otar Shamugia, worked together fruitfully to find and purchase the wooden materials needed for Oda House. Material processing works started a few days ago.
A geological survey was conducted where Georgian Ode was placed, and asbestos cleaning was carried out in the old dump where the kitchen should be placed.
Georgian artisans will build the Ode House in Georgia, after which it will be dismantled and sent to France. The same Georgian masters will make Oda’s house in Levili’s homeland. Accordingly, all wood elements and knots will be processed in Georgia. The capital part of the Odi will be performed on the spot with the participation of French companies.
From 2021 to date, the Gushagi House was rehabilitated, the reconstruction and refurbishment of the spaces for creative residence, the authentic face of the 4 ha homeland of the homeland was restored, and the park and its centuries-old plants were arranged.
The interior rehabilitation of Leville’s native chateau is nearing completion, with the roof and facade work being completed. Soon, the rehabilitation of Colonel Tsereteli’s residence will begin, and according to the conditions of the Sanotary Act, a media library and a library will be set up.
This part of the project should be implemented in the spring of 2025.
