Kubulatei Municipality, Georgia: In the Kobuleti municipality, in the archaeological-architectural complex of Petra prison, the award ceremony of “Honorary Kobuletian” was held.
The Government of Adjara shared the glimpses of the award ceremony on its Official Facebook Page on May 28, 2026, Thursday. The Government also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Adjara Government, Zurab Pataradze, along with the Chairman of the Region’s High Council, Tsotne Ananidze, representatives of the Adjarian Government and local self-government.
The guests were greeted by the Mayor of Kobuleti Municipality, Irakli Tsetskhladze. Zurab Pataradze, the chairman of the Adjara Government, and Tsotne Ananidze addressed the society.
Zurab Pataradze thanked the nominees for their many years of fruitful work and special contribution to the development of the municipality. The Prime Minister noted that appreciating the lives of people distinguished to society and passing them on to future generations is one of the main tasks of the government.
“There is a tradition of awarding distinguished people in all six municipalities of Adjara. Today, we awarded “Honorable Kobuletians” and had the opportunity to personally congratulate them. Being a Kobuletian is a special honor and responsibility. It is a pleasure that today we gathered three generations of Kobuleti and celebrated with love the effort they have made for the development of Kobuleti. I am sure that this important tradition will continue in the future and we will have the opportunity to honor the people who decorate our municipalities with their work and dignified lives,” said Zurab Pataradze.
During the ceremony, the chairman of the Adjara government personally presented the “Honorary Kobuleteli” award to sportsman Irakli Turmanidze and cardiologist Besik Kakaladze. This year, the title of “Honorable Kobuleteli” was given to five distinguished citizens of the municipality.
