The chairman of the Adjara Government, Zurab Pataradze, together with the Minister of Refugees, Labor, Health, and Social Protection, Mikheil Sarjveladze, participated in the international scientific conference – “Sports medicine for the health and achievement of athletes” held in Batumi.
The Government of Adjara shared the glimpses of the scientific conference on its official Facebook Page on May 29, 2026, Friday. The Government also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
The event was opened by the First Deputy Minister of Sport of Georgia Irakli Medzmariashvili. The participants of the conference were addressed by the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, the Minister of Health of Georgia, the Chairmen of Parliamentary Committees, and other officials.
During his speech, the Chairman of the Adjara Government noted that such international forums promote the sharing of professional experience, the development of young specialists, and the strengthening of the sports field. According to him, Adjara has the potential to host important regional and international sporting events.
“This conference is a very important platform for sports medicine, encouraging the professional development and sharing of experience among young specialists, physicians, academia representatives, and coaches.” International sports events are being held in Adjara more, and it is important to have highly qualified specialists to make the region a host platform for large international competitions. The government of Adjara is fully engaged to keep the infrastructure organized and the region to host many international events successfully,” said Zurab Pataradze.
It should also be noted that modern technologies and innovative rehabilitation systems of sports medicine and rehabilitation are exhibited within the conference.
The scientific conference provides practical training for more than 80 coaches and specialists from Adjara and more than 60 students and academic staff from Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
Batumi hosts the International Forum for the third time. The event is attended by representatives of the world’s leading universities and clinics, doctors from the Olympic teams, scientists, and specialists in the field of sports medicine.
