The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, during her visit to Tajikistan, signed three memorandums of understanding to deepen economic cooperation between the countries.
The documents were signed during the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, to the Republic of Tajikistan.
In particular, agreements were signed on cooperation in the field of tourism, air traffic between the two countries, and the establishment of a joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
According to the statement of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, high-level bilateral meetings were held within the framework of the visit.
“During the visit, an agreement was signed based on which a joint intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation will be established. At the same time, an agreement on cooperation in the aviation sector was signed. Of course, it is important to reach these agreements, because we see that economic activities, especially trade, are growing between our two countries every year,” said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
As the Minister of Economy stated, the signed documents will play an important role in deepening the partnership between the two countries, including trade and economic relations. The agreements will also contribute to the rapprochement of business circles and the launch of direct air traffic.
“During the meetings, special emphasis was placed on maximizing the potential of the two countries in terms of economic cooperation. Of course, special attention should be paid to issues of trade, export from Georgia, cooperation in the tourism sector, as well as the importance of direct flights between Georgia and Tajikistan,” Mariam Kvrivishvili noted.
As part of the visit, Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili participated in extended-format meetings held with Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda and President Emomali Rahmon.
