Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Zviad Gabisonia participated in the International Summit of Higher Education held in Budapest, Hungary’s capital – “QS Higher Education Summit: Europe 2026”.
Zviad Gabisonia addressed the participants of the panel discussion held within the framework of the summit entitled: “Higher education – the country’s strategic resource”.
The Deputy Minister provided information to the attending community about the main directions of the fundamental reform of higher education in Georgia. Zviad Gabisonia has paid special attention to the importance of innovations and the implementation of artificial intelligence in the higher education system in terms of developing the country’s economy.
The participants of the discussion discussed the role of higher education in the country’s economic development, investment attraction, and competitiveness. The conversation covered important issues such as: boosting the international awareness and reputation of national higher education systems; policies to attract and retain local and international students and researchers; artificial intelligence and mechanisms to support digital and green transformation.
“QS Higher Education Summit: Europe 2026“ aims to discuss the strategies and approaches that higher education institutions should use to position and strengthen competitiveness in the global academic space. In addition, the Summit provides an important platform for the sharing of international experience and best practices, which promotes higher education systems and deepens international cooperation.
