Leaders gather for Georgian Science Conference in Ajara

The Chairmen of the Supreme Council and Government of Ajara - Tsotne Ananidze and Zurab Pataradze, and the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Givi Mikanadze, attended the scientific conference dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.

The Chairmen of the Supreme Council and Government of Ajara – Tsotne Ananidze and Zurab Pataradze, and the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Givi Mikanadze, attended the scientific conference dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.

At the conference, Tsotne Ananidze spoke about the importance of the event and the special role of science in the development of the country.

“The education reform has clearly demonstrated the importance of a thoughtful and professional approach to education and science. I thank the Georgian National Academy and its members for their significant contribution to the development of science and for sharing knowledge with new generations.

A strong science for the development of a modern state. In addition, it is noteworthy that the conference discussed the 1700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as the state religion, which is an integral part of the history and identity of Georgia. It is this heritage that played an important role in the formation of Georgian statehood, education, science and national identity,” said Tsotne Ananidze, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara.

The conference participants were also addressed by the rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University – Tite Aroshidze and the Minister of Education and Sports of Ajara – Maia Khajishvili.

The event ended with the awarding of researchers. The ceremony was attended by members of the Supreme Council of Ajara, representatives of the executive and legislative authorities, academic circles and the scientific community.

The two-day scientific conference was held in three thematic sections: “Christian Heritage and National Identity”, “Modern Challenges of Teaching Exact Sciences” and “Agrarian Sciences, Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development”.

The conference aimed to discuss modern trends in the development of national science, present scientific achievements, deepen cooperation in science and education, and support and promote young scientists.
