The Mayor of Rustavi, Nino Latsabidze, with the team of the City Hall, presented the project of the strategic document for the long-term development of the city to the population at the Rustavi Youth Palace. The elaboration of the long-term development strategy in municipalities is carried out by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, in coordination with the Ministry of Regional Development, and its goal is sustainable, consistent, and result-oriented development of cities.
Rustavi’s long-term development plan unites 3 main directions and considers the implementation of an environmentally friendly, youth-friendly, and technologically developed smart city concept.
The mentioned strategy includes important projects such as new green recreational spaces, a long-term plan for the swamp forest development, a technical water system, energy-efficient and eco-friendly initiatives, electric transport, and municipal digital platforms. At the same time, the plan includes the construction of a university infrastructure, a sports city and a new stadium, the construction of new state-of-the-art buildings, as well as the restoration of the old Rustavi and modernization of the new city.
