The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze held an introductory meeting with Ihsan Selim Baydas, Governor of Rize Province. The meeting was held during his visit to the Republic of Turkey.
The Government of Adjara shared highlights of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on October 9, 2026, Friday alongside a brief summary about the discussions held at the meeting.
The meeting focused on opportunities for Adjara and Rize to deepen cooperation, strengthen university ties, and share regional experiences.
In addition to discussing ways to boost trade, economic ties, business initiatives, and professional contacts, the parties addressed academic links between universities. It will further expand professional development opportunities for young people.
Zurab Pataradze noted that the similar geographical conditions of Adjara and Rize specifically their coastal locations and mountainous landscapes create significant prospects for shared interests and cooperation. In this context, the discussion covered the exchange of experience regarding the development of year-round tourism and mountain resort infrastructure.
The Chairman of the Government also highlighted Batumi’s capacity to host international forums and congresses. It was noted that such events facilitate the exchange of experience, the identification of new partners, and the expansion of economic cooperation.

- Osman Çalışkan-Mzhavanadze, Chairman of the DEIK Turkey-Georgia Business Council,
- representatives of business associations.
