Georgia: First-year students of the Bachelor’s (BA) Program of Information Technology of the International University of Caucasus – Nika Markoidze, Aleksandre Begiashvili, Giorgis Khatiashvili, and Beka Vanadze – were employed at the National Center for Evaluation and Examinations.
They will participate in the software exam process and serve as the largest exam center.
Students and the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology of CIU, Ketevan Nanobashvili, talk to us about the factors that have contributed to the employment of first-year students.
“It is noteworthy that the university learning environment is integrated with the rapidly evolving pace of the IT sector, which is fully in line with modern standards.” The subjects we go through in the program are adapted to market demands, which is a critical factor in our employment. Also, a schedule adapted to the student’s schedule should be noted, making it easier to get employed and study, says Nika Markoidze.
“Every day, I want to come here with joy because this program gives me a constant opportunity for development.” It is remarkable to have a relationship with highly qualified, practical lecturers and the experience we get from them,” – Beka Vanadze notes.
As Dean of the Faculty Ketevan Nanobashvili says, this experience will be of utmost importance for students in terms of professional and human relations. “In our field, a trend focuses on skills-based programs. Our students are creating projects in graphic design, bases, networks, and mobile apps, and ultimately, building a competitive portfolio gives a high probability of employment. The uniqueness of the IT program is the teaching focused on developing skills”.
It is worth noting that the English-language curriculum will also be operational from the next academic year, together with the Georgian Bachelor’s Program of Information Technology at the University. Opportunities for practical skills-focused learning continue to grow, which will lead to new infrastructure projects, technology innovations, and growing international contacts.
