Tbilisi: The Caucasus University’s project “Promotion of quality digital education” (PRODIGE) won the competition organized by Eramus+CBHE. The project aims to promote digital higher education.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science with the objective of reforming digital higher education. At the same time the project also aims to promote digital education through legislative changes and strengthen the capacities of higher educational institutions across the country.
It is worth mentioning that the projects have three main strategies to bring dramatic changes. These strategies have been mentioned below:
- Support by the education ministry for change of policy of digital higher education and the recognition of digital education in Georgia
- Bringing changes and developing mechanisms for digital higher education
- Enhancing the capacity of education institutions for the implementation of digital education
As per the information provided under the project’s provision the country’s higher education institutions are required to adopt a strategic plan to ensure quality digital education for all. At the same time these new strategies should be compliant with the best European standards as the country is in the process of EU integration.
The project aims to develop digital education by implementing workshops, study tours, methodologies, relevant study modules, and study materials as provided by the National Center for Education Quality Development (NCEQE) of Georgia.
According to the experts the project will bring dramatic changes in higher education institutions and regulatory bodies which will be helpful for all. The project is being implemented with the participation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia the National Center for Quality Development, 10 higher educational institutions, and associated partners.
At the same time the Georgian Student Association and Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) are also coordinating with it. More partner educational institutions from Belgium, Estonia, Spain, and Croatia will be there to support the project as well. The project has also been established as a structural reform project within the Erasmus+ 2024 competition.
