New Delhi, India: The Crown Prince of Denmark, Frederik Andre Henrik Christian and Crown Princess, Mary Elizabeth are on a four-day visit to India, which began on Sunday. The Danish Royal Couple received a warm welcome from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.Â
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the visit from the Danish Royal Couple, which is the first in two decades, is sure to strengthen the relations between the countries. The last visit from Danish Royal Couple was noted in 2003.
Indian EAM, S Jaishankar also expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Danish Royal Couple, stating, “Delighted to welcome the Royal Highness, Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary Elizabeth of Denmark on their visit to India. Shared various aspects of the New India in making with them. Our conversation covered the topic of sustainability and digital delivery in particular.”Â
As updated by the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Arindam Bagchi, The Royal Couple paid their respects to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, followed by a meeting with the Indian External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar where they discussed sustainability and digital delivery.
In addition to this, the Royal Couple met with the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankar and his wife, Sudesh Dhankar. On Sunday, the couple also visited the Taj Mahal in Agra.
Further, the Danish Crown Prince will be addressing the opening session of India-Denmark: Partners for Green and Sustainable Progress and has been organized by CII along with a visit to Chennai on March 2.Â
The President of India, Droupadi Murmu remarked the Green Strategic Partnership to be a catalyst for enhanced cooperation between India and Denmark, as she met the Crown Prince of Denmark, Frederik Andre Henrik Christian and Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, during their four-day visit to India.Â
