Dominica: The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, on November 23, 2022, launched Miriam Blanchard as the DLP’S candidate from the Roseau North constituency.
The Dominican Prime Minister reinstated his full faith and confidence in Blanchard as he introduced her to the general public from the Roseau North constituency, from where she’ll be contesting the elections. PM Skerrit also assured his support for the candidate on being elected to the parliament.
According to PM Skerrit, Miriam Blanchard is the one candidate that the citizens of Roseau North actually require for their upliftment and welfare. The dedication Blanchard carries towards the citizens is unmatched.
Moreover, PM Skerrit expressed his belief in Blanchard’s administrative efficiency and capability to serve the constituency to the fullest.
While he launched Blanchard, he stated that –“For way too long, people of Roseau North have made wrong choices, and we have heard excuses from the parliament representatives of the past. Now, people can vote for Miriam Blanchard and support progress and prosperity”.
The challenges that North Roseau’s citizens have also been facing formed a part of the Prime Minister’s address, where housing has been one major issue. Regarding the residential requirements of the citizens, Skerrit highlighted that No one comes near to the Labour Party when it comes to housing.
The Labour Party has provided the citizens with the most sophisticated, climate-resilient houses to reside in a while pointing out the incapabilities of the former representative of the Roseau North and their failures in serving the citizens well; stating They would talk about all kinds of things but never about the people whom they were representing.”
Over this, PM Skerrit stressed his aspirations to fulfil the most basic needs of the citizens by providing them with clean water, electric connectivity along with well-defined drainage and sanitation.
Blanchard also indulged in conversations with the citizens that attended her launch ceremony. She asserted the accomplishments of the Labour Party in various fields, including agriculture as well as the manufacturing sector.
She also put forth her aim to empower the single mothers and Youth of the country. In her words,” Youth and single mothers would have access to skills training and resources to equip them to enter the workforce and learn a new trade so they could be self-employed.”
