Dusheti, Georgia: The Dusheti House of Culture, named after Ilia Zakaidze, was the esteemed venue for the exhibition of manuscripts.
This event was made possible with the support of the Dusheti Municipality City Hall, in collaboration with Corneli Kekelidze’s National Center of Manuscripts of Georgia and the Association of Calligraphers of Georgia.
Also, the Exhibition and Educational Programs Department of the National Manuscript Center presented photocopies, banners, and mullages of the oldest samples of Georgian writing.
The city of Dusheti was not just a host, but an active participant in this event. Dusheti N1 N2 and 32 pupils of Pirmisaantkara Public School. Pupils from Dusheti N1 N2 and 32 of Pirmisaantkara Public School, under the guidance of Georgian calligraphers, delved into the art of Georgian writing. Their works were proudly displayed in the foyer of the Dusheti House of Culture, showcasing the city’s commitment to promoting calligraphy.
It is worth noting that flyers and notebooks will be printed with the surnames of children participating in the calligraphy masterclass and their works.
Copies of works created by children will be sent to public schools participating in the Dusheti event. Also, all participating children and schools were given a certificate of gratitude.
Matsatso Narimanidze, in his congratulatory remarks to the children and teachers, expressed his vision for the event. He announced that this exhibition will become an annual tradition, with the aim of involving all public schools in the municipality in the future, thereby ensuring the longevity and growth of this cultural event.
In the evening with the Mayor of Dusheti Municipality – Matsatso Narimanidze, the head of the Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Service of the City Hall Keto Tsiklauri, the Director of the Cultural and Educational Center Jemal Damatsalashvili, the Chairman of the Committee on Social and Cultural Affairs of the City Hall Giorgi Aslamazishvili, the City Hall and City Hall employees.
