Georgia: According to the data summarized by the Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Georgian airports served 60,13,995 passengers on regular and irregular flights, a record index of passenger capacity for the country in 2023.
The number of passengers received in 2023 is 35% higher than those transferred in the same period in 2022 and 15% higher than the passenger count recorded in 2019.
Last year, Tbilisi International Airport served 3 694,052 passengers. The growth is 23% compared to the same period in 2022. In addition, with the mentioned passenger index, Tbilisi International Airport returned 100% to the passenger index recorded in 2019 (an increase of 0.05%).
16,71,198 passengers were transported through Kutaisi International Airport. The increase in passenger numbers is 110% compared to 2022. Compared to 2019, Kutaisi Airport served 91% more passengers.
Batumi International Airport served 621,514 passengers. The increase is 0.75% compared to 2022, and compared to 2019, the passenger recovery rate is 99.58%.
Regarding local destination airports, Mestia served 10,217 passengers in total for 2023 data, 9% more than the number of passengers transported in 2022 and 18% more than the number of passengers received in 2019.
Ambrolauri Airport received 2,225 passengers last year, 16% behind the number of passengers served in 2022 and 13% above the number of passengers welcomed in 2019. Compared to 2019, the number of passengers at Natakhtari airport has increased by 65% compared to 2022. The airport served 14,789 passengers.
In 2023, 26,290 flights were carried out in Georgian airports. From this, the number of regular flights was 21,280, and charter flights were 5,010. Compared to the number of flights carried out in 2022, the number of flights increased by 23%, and compared to the same period in 2019, the rate of growth of flights carried out is 8%.
Compared to 2022, the Georgian airspace usage rate increased by 58%, compared to 2019 by 65%. In total, last year, 232 491 flights were recorded. In 2023, the volume of cargo transported by air was 19,168. Five hundred forty-seven tons of it has been made. Compared to 2022, load turnover has increased by 6%.
