The Georgian civil aviation authority has hosted a practical training for employees about meteorological services. This training session was held by ministry in coordination’s of ACGi(Austrian aviation authority (Austro Control International).
As per the official of GCAA and Agi Austrian aviation authority (Austro Control International) this will help its employees to understand various aspects of meteorological services.
The agency while sharing details of this course said that “Within the framework of meteorological services training, the stages of inspection, verification and the existing European requirements for determining the conformity of activities were discussed.”
It further revealed that, “The training included practical aspects of inspection planning, development of control cards, on-site inspection, preparation of audit reports, agreement on corrective actions and verification of the implementation of corrective measures.”
It is worth to note that under the guidance of an expert invited from Austro Control, the Agency’s flight safety inspectors carried out an inspection of “Sakaieronavigation”, which provides meteorological services to Georgian civil aviation.
Moreover within the framework of the inspection, the team checked both the processes and documents related to the meteorological services of flights on the ground, as well as the functioning of the relevant technical infrastructure and equipment.
The supervision of the air navigation service enterprise by the agency was positively assessed by an expert from the Austrian aviation authority. In addition, the experience and best practices of the EU member states were shared by him, which will help the Agency in further improving and perfecting the ongoing supervision process.
The Georgian civil aviation authorities is taking number of steps to adopt international standards in Georgian aviation field. This training session for its employee is also a step forward in this direction. The agency has many such initiatives in past years to upgrade skill of its workforce.
The training session also held in other countries to give employees of agency to have an international exposure. The international exposure helps agency employees to implement best industrial practices in Georgia.
