Tbilisi: The United Nations Development Program and the Center for Environmental Information and Education of the Environmental Protection and the Agriculture Ministry of Georgia announce a competition for clubs and schools of Tbilisi and Mtskheta municipalities for the best screenplay of the animated manga “Forest is my friend” episode 2.
The animated manga “Forest is my friend” was created within the UN Development Program project “Principles of Forest Sustainable and Climate-Friendly Management”, implemented in cooperation with the National Forest Agency of the Environment and Agriculture Ministry of Georgia and financial assistance of the Japanese government.
The animated film tells us the story of a warrior girl and a woodpecker who meet each other on a battlefield, where the war between humans and the forest is taking place. As the plot develops, they discover much in common, become friends, and decide to find together a lost connection between humans and forest.
The students of eco clubs and secondary schools of Tbilisi and Mtskheta municipalities can participate in the competition both in groups and individually.
The format of the presented scenario can be both text and drawing in PDF format. The three best scenarios for animation continuation will be selected on the basis of the competition.
Selection criteria which is as follows:
• creativity
• Emphasis on the importance of forests and the need to protect them
• Logical with the first part of the animation
Three winning scriptwriters or the group of authors will be awarded with 1,000 GEL gift vouchers. The deadline for submission of competition materials is March 10, 2023.
