Georgia: Culture Minister Thea Tsulukiani visits Zestafoni lottery school

Tbilisi: The Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, Thea Tsulukiani, visited the Zestafoni Lottery School of the State Folklore Center named after Anzor Erkomaishvili. Along with the representatives of the local municipality and the director of the State Folklore Center, Giorgi Donadze, the minister got acquainted with the activities of the Lottery School.

Tbilisi: The Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, Thea Tsulukiani, visited the Zestafoni Lottery School of the State Folklore Center named after Anzor Erkomaishvili. Along with the representatives of the local municipality and the director of the State Folklore Center, Giorgi Donadze, the minister got acquainted with the activities of the Lottery School.

Minister Thea Tsulukiani met with Lotbar Aleksandre Khakhishvili of Salotbaro School, regent Aleko Mikeladze, students of Salotbaro School and other representatives. The Minister of Culture talked to the public present at the meeting and got acquainted with the creativity of the students of the Lottery School and their needs.

Additionally, Tsulukiani thanked the school representatives for the promotion of Georgian folklore and their selfless work.

It was noted that one of the priority directions of the Ministry of Culture is to support Georgian folklore and promote its development. It is planned to visit all lottery schools in Georgia by the end of this year. The Minister of Culture has already visited the lottery schools of Mestia, Lentekhi, Ambrolauri, Oni, Khoni and Samtredia.

With the initiative and support of the Ministry of Culture and the State Folklore Center of Georgia, Zestafoni Lottery School was opened in 2015. The school enrolls 23 students who learn traditional Georgian chants and folk songs free of charge.

Notably, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia and the leadership of the State Folklore Center named after Anzor Erkomaishvili, 30 lottery schools operate in Georgia, where young people learn Georgian chants, playing instruments and folk songs free of charge
