Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Georgia expressed hope that his party would win in Parliament elections. The Georgian Parliament election will be held in October 2024.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze claimed today that the ruling Georgian Dream party is in a “solid” electoral position and enjoying “60 percent support” among voters ahead of the parliamentary elections.
He was addressing the party representative at the party’s new central office. The PM reiterated that the party would make every possible effort to record a remarkable victory in elections.
The PM also underlined that the party needs maximum strength so the country can progress in every field. This strength will also give powers to defeat liberal fascism in Georgia. As per the Prime Minister everyone who is familiar with the results of the 2012 elections knows the old practices. He also underlined how the ruling regime has ended the practice of rigging elections in the past.
PM further said that the ruling party Georgian Dream will do everything to ensure free and impartial elections. The PM also highlighted the importance of conducting elections in a “peaceful and calm environment.
According to the Prime Minister , some people are trying to launch “several liberal-fascist attacks” on representatives of the ruling party. Still our ruling party will ensure that the election occurred in “essentially peaceful circumstances”.
The PM added that an impartial election is also necessary as many international observation missions to which the Georgian authorities had already extended corresponding invitations will monitor it closely.
On the other hand the election official also added that the election voting machines are being used for the first time in the country. They also added that election voting machines will ensure the minimum election error.
It is worth mentioning that the ruling regime is facing public anger over the implementation of the foreign agents law. The opposition parties have termed the law a Russian law that will stifle the independent media. As per the foreign agent law NGOs and CSOs must register themselves if they receive more than 20 percent of their funding from foreign countries.
