The republic of Georgia has participated first time in international event namely CES (Consumer Electronics Show). The show is being held in Las Vegas city of United States of America.
The delegation of Georgia is being led by Irakli Nadareishvili who Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development is. The Georgian delegation visited there on invitation of organiser of this world level event.
It is worth to note that the Georgia is being represented under the initiative of “Startup in Georgia”. The initiative startup Georgia was built according to the international market needs as a country has a favourable environment for the development of startups.
It is also to be added that within the framework of the event, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development participated in a panel discussion on the topic “Opening Opportunities: State Strategies to Support Startups and Strengthen Investments”.
The development of an innovative startup ecosystem is one of the important and fundamental parts of the economic policy of the Government of Georgia, which in turn will takes into account the development of an economy based on knowledge and innovation in our country”, added minister.
The state supports startups in many different directions, paying great attention to the development of infrastructure, access to finance and technical assistance. One of the important components of this path is the presentation of the country’s startup ecosystem on a global scale, the best way to do this is through global, technological exhibitions and conferences. It is noteworthy that this year Georgia is represented at CES for the first time, the Deputy Minister also highlighted in his speech.
Irakli Nadareishvili provided the discussion participants with detailed information about the innovation support programs, tax incentives, access to finance tools and research directions in Georgia.
The other issues which were discussed includes by Georgian minister includes reforms implemented by the government. Moreover as a result of this the Georgian startup ecosystem become a centre of attraction of regional importance and created significant interest among global investors and foreign startups.
