The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared the glimpses of the presentation event on its official Facebook Page on April 29, 2026, Wednesday. The Georgian Education Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting, along with the glimpses.
The report discusses the compliance of skills demand-supply in Georgia and major challenges, including skills shortages, the need to adapt to the rapidly changing economic environment, and the importance of strengthening coordination between the education system and the labour market.
After the presentation, a panel discussion was moderated by the World Bank Regional Director in the South Caucasus, Roland Price.
During the panel discussion, participants discussed important issues such as: the impact of digitalisation, green transition, and an ageing population on the labour market and skills needed; and skills shortages as a factor in economic growth and inclusion.
According to Baia Kvitsiani, bringing the education system closer to labor market demands, developing modern skills, and strengthening human capital are among the Ministry’s priorities. As the Deputy Minister noted, both the development of the vocational and higher education system, as well as the deepening of cooperation with the private sector, are actively underway in this direction.
Georgian Deputy Minister of Refugees, Labor, Health and Social Protection Giorgi Tsagareishvili, Chairman of Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency Avtandil Kasradze, and Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia Levan Vepkhvadze took part in the panel discussion.
The event was attended by representatives of state agencies, the private sector, business associations, international organizations, and academic circles.
