Tbilisi: The Finance Minister of Georgia, Lasha Khutsishvili responds to meetings held in the United States as he advoacted the measures taken by Georgia partners on the implementation of sanctions by the country, which according to Khutsishvili, does not leave any questions and deserve only positive evaluation at all meetings.

As the Finance Minister noted, “Georgia has strong support from international financial institutions and partner countries. The reforms and achievements made towards the country’s fiscal and monetary policy were highly recognised by all international financial institutions.

Georgia is one of the rare exceptions in the world, with double-digit economic growth over the last two years, a sharp reduction in the budget deficit, a reduction in the level of government debt (to MPP), an improvement in the current account deficit and a decrease in inflation in recent months.

There are apparently consciously spreading false information about the above mentioned meetings by several telecom companies. These stories are completely false information and have nothing to do with reality.

As I have said many times, from our partners, there have never been any questions regarding the implementation of sanctions by Georgia. In this regard, the events held by Georgia do not leave any questions and deserve only positive evaluation at all meetings. The high level of collaboration that exists today with partner organizations has never been seen before.

The Treasury holds bilateral meetings with partner U.S. organizations regularly, including the Monetary Fund and the World Bank spring/annual meetings, and the current year is no exception.

Fake information today should not be surprise for anyone. However, out of more than 30 meetings of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia,  this week only one was “selected” to spread lies! This time, really surprise everyone at the scale of all the fakes! “, – writes Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili.
