Georgian Minister of Education and Science Honours winner student

Tbilisi: Giorgi Amilakhvar, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia , awarded the winners of the 2023 Student Inventors Competition “Leonardo da Vinci”. The student also got  monetary prize on the occasion.

At the awarding ceremony, the Minister congratulated the students on winning the competition, wished them success, and awarded special prizes. General Director of Rustaveli National Science Foundation Teimuraz Dochvir was also present.

The winning projects of the 2023 competition were announced by the specially-completed Competition Commission. Notably, The authors of the project “Adjustable Focal Length Budget Reflective Telescope” – Irakli Veshapeli, Saba Kutibashvili, and Anastasia Kikalia were awarded the Grand Prix.

The project called “Drone Controlled by the Brain” won the first prize. Its author was Nika Kuparadze, Konstantine Gotiashvili, and Mariam Peranidze.
Similarly, the Second prize went to the project “Obtaining and using non-Newton clay from local raw materials”. Its authors include Anastasia Dekanosidze, Mariam Lominashvili, and Nikoloz Burduli.
The third place award was won by the project “Bee Poison Process Management and Control System”, whose authors are – Nino Gureshidze, Zurab Rezesidze, and Sandro Chikovani.

During the honouring ceremony, the winning students were given badges, certificates and special prizes. The Grand Prix winner got 10,000 GEL, the authors of the first place got
5,000 GEL, the author of the second place – got 3000 GEL, and the creators of the third place won the amount of 2000 GEL.

Moreover, the Successful participants of the competition were also honoured with special prizes. These special projects were awarded by the Georgian National Intellectual Property Center – “Sakpatent”, Mtatsminda Park, Sulakauri Publishing House and the Georgian Chemists Association.

It is worth mentioning that, in total, 29 project applications were submitted to participate in the 2023 competition. 16 projects passed to the second stage. From this, in conclusion, 12 projects gained the opportunity to participate in the final and third stages of the competition.

The contest “Leonardo da Vinci” is one of the most successful and popular projects of the Rustaveli Foundation. It was introduced in the year 2011.
