Tbilisi: The prosecutor office of Georgia has charged four another person for damaging property. They also are guilty of causing damage to police officer on duty.
The facts of incident were investigated by the officials of Ministry of internal affairs. The in-depth investigation of Ministry of internal affair have established that on past Sunday at area of Rustaveli avenue they took law into their own hand.
Moreover, during the ongoing protests they have also tried to hurt employees of police force. The members of police were attacked by these two accused as well. It was revealed during the investigation that all the accused person further try to cause hurt to employees of special task force by throwing Molotov cocktail on them.
Accrong to officials of the agencies, out of these two employees one attacked a police officer and gave him a serious head injury with baton. On the other hand one of the accused from protesters have with use of knife physical assaulted a police officer.
Similarly, ministry investigations also established that on December 4 night three video cameras were damaged by accused. These three cameras were associated with security services of Tbilisi city hall administration.
Arrested person has been booked under various acts of Georgian law. The two of them are charged with article 353 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (attack on a police officer in connection with his official activities). If accused found guilty under this provision they can get jail term ranging from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
On the other hand one other have been booked under Article 353 (infringement of the health of a police officer in connection with official activities), this is also one of strict provision of Georgian criminal law. The law enforcer is investigating the whole matter in detail and said in future more guilty could be traced.
The law experts and officer of enforcement agencies reiterated that all citizens have right to protest under Georgian constitution. However, they said that this right is only for peaceful protest and should not be used a shield for violent protests.
