Tbilisi: Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Georgia said his government is answerable to only the country’s citizens.
He also said the newly formed government does not need any validation from opposition parties that are trying to create false propaganda against the ruling party “Georgian Dream”.
It is worth noting that since the installation of the new government in Georgia under the Georgian Dream after the October 26 election, many reports have indicated large-scale election code violations. Reports also claimed that in many areas, threats were hurled at voters to influence them to vote in their favour.
PM in his recently issued statement from Baku added, “The voters of the country have elected a new government with their free will without any external pressure. So, due to this fact, there is no need for re-election as demanded by many opposition parties and officials, NGOs, and CSOs.”
Georgia’s Prime Minister issues this statement from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The PM is presently in Azerbaijan to attend the 29th session of the COP (Conference of Parties), which is beginning.
The Central Election Commission of Georgia’s official said, ” The county’s election laws are strict to prevent any misuse of power.”
PM while blaming further said that the Georgian opposition parties have no future in the current situation, so they blame the Georgian Dream with false allegations.
According to the Prime Minister, the opposition parties have no evidence to prove the allegation. However, these parties are alleging to discredit the Georgian Dream, which the people of Georgia elected with their own free will and without any external pressures.
PM underlined that all the rules and regulations were thoroughly followed and the whole voting procedure was recorded, which means there is no scope for any poll-related violation.
Moreover independent observers also kept tight vigil on the whole process to ensure a transparent and fair election in the country, so there is no question of claiming any fraud in the election process.
