Along with the Deputy Education Minister, the Deputy Minister of Justice Niko Tatulashvili, and Director of Vocational Training and Training Center for Prisoners Tamta Demurishvili also visited the convicts of Rustavi 16th Penitentiary Institution.
With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, the Center for Vocational Training and Training of Convicts carries out training courses in various prison institutions throughout the year, which helps in the employment and rehabilitation of prisoners after release.
Vocational training programs in prisons are a part of the rehabilitation and reintegration process for prisoners. These programs help prisoners develop skills that can help them find employment after their release.
The Graduates have been awarded a state-recognized bilingual certificate, which will enable them to work in their chosen profession after leaving the prison, both in Georgia and outside the country.
Baia Kvitsiani congratulated the convicts on successful completion of the course, wished to use the knowledge gained fruitfully in the future and focused on the importance of professional education development while speaking.
The event was attended by representatives of all organizations participating in the project. They got to know about other resocialization and rehabilitation projects going on in the 16th Penitentiary and visited the small businesses where inmates are employed.
It is noteworthy that the twenty convicts involved in the project learned how to prepare different types of dishes of Georgian and European cuisine at a professional level.
