Tbilisi: An impressive celebration event was held at Georgian Technical University campus to welcome a new batch of students. The University Management welcomed the 102nd stream of students who will begin a new journey in the academic year 2024-25.
Nodar Papukashvili, the Georgian Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, attended the event. Davit Gurgenidze the GTU’s Reactor, opened the event and congratulated the students on a successful academic year.
The Reactor in his speech stated “It is a very proud moment that the number of students increases in the University every year. This increasing number of students every year reflects the growing rating of the University. I would like to extend my best wishes to all of you. This is an important step towards higher education. It is also very good to see that the number of students in engineering and technology is again high as usual.”
On this occasion the Reactor also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for his consistent effort in the direction of higher education. He also thanked Vice Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili, the Energy Development Fund and its head Jaba Khmaladze, the Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Giorgi Amilakhvar and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
On the other hand Nodar Papukashvili the Georgian Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth also addressed the students. The Minister during his address stated “I like to congratulate all of you on this special moment of your student life. I hope that the new academic year will bring more success for you, and you will make Georgia proud with your hard work.”
It is worth noting that this grand and impressive “WELCOME TO GTU” event was held on open space in the university campus. Many entertainment spaces attracted new students and the GTU musical Group also gave a live performance for students.
At the end of the event commemorative gift packages were handed over to the fresh students as a welcome gesture from GTU’s Reactor. The concert ended with fireworks which everyone liked.
