Georgia: citizens to get free medicine

According to the Universal Healthcare Program being implemented by Goioievrnment of republic of Georgia the citizens with relevant categories/status will receive medication for chronic diseases The expenses for these medicine will be fully funded for a whole year by the Georgian government.

As per the latest information shared by the ministry of health of government of Georgia The program includes the financing of medications for the following chronic diseases:

-Chronic cardiovascular diseases;

-the chronic diseases of the filth;

-Chronic diseases of the thyroid gland;

-Type 2 diabetes;

-Parkinson’s;

-Epilepsy;

Necessary medicines will be fully received throughout the year:

Socially vulnerable persons (whose rating does not exceed 100,000 units);

-pensioners;

-Veterans;

-Persons with disability status (children with disabilities, with severe or significant disability status

mouths);

At the same time the provision also said that these facilities will be given to people of areas under the Gori, Khashuri, Kaspi, Kareli, Dusheti, Oni, Sachkheri, Zugdidi as well In the municipalities of Mestia, Tsalenjikhi in occupied Georgia

Population living in villages near the dividing line will also be eligible under the scheme.

Thr health ministry also said that this is aimed at providing the affordable health service to all those who are poor and cannot buy the costly medicines for proper treatment of their diseases.
