New Delhi, India: The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi felicitated the Sikh Community for the 35th Australian Sikh Games, which are organized by the Australian National Sikh Sports and Cultural Council in Brisbane. As PM Modi stated, the sporting event will provide an opportunity for the Sikhs to exhibit their talents and skills on a bigger platform and inspire the younger generations of Sikhs to excel in anything they participate in.
The High Commission of India in Canberra also shared the message of Indian PM Narendra Modi on their Twitter handle, which read as “Pleased to learn about 35th Australian Sikh Games. Greetings and best wishes to everyone participating and associated with the Games.
In addition to this, PM Modi highlighted the role of the Sikh Gurus in enlightening India and the world with their ‘eternal and timeless values’, which also include the significance of the physical well-being and spiritual inclination of humans. Also, the values of unifying the people of diverse sections of society together as a team and achieving progress.
 Modi also stressed the concept of equality followed in sports, as the participants, despite their diverse social backgrounds, come together on an equal platform and work towards the achievement of common goals.
Additionally, PM Modi focused on the similarities between India and Australia, which include a connected history and shared values. The nations stick fast to the ideals of democracy and respect for international order. Moreover, the inclusion of sports is further strengthening the relations between the nations.
Further, PM Modi praised the Indian Diaspora, which according to him, has carved out a niche for itself in the global arena, with the Australian Sikh Games being one such example of it. The initiative is sure to enhance the love and affection for the Indian Diaspora across the world.
