Geoanesthesia 2024, the Seventh International Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Conference has begun in Batumi Georgia today. The two day conference is being held under the patronage of the Government of Adjara region of Georgia.
The two-day conference in anaesthesiology and intensive therapy was officially opened at the Sheraton Batumi hotel. Mikheil Sarjveladze, Minister of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection from the occupied territories of Georgia attended the opening ceremony.
It was also attended by Nino Nizharadze, Adjara’s Minister of Health and Social Protection, Batumi Mayor Archil Chikovani and members of the medical community from around the world.
In his opening remarks Minister Nino Nizharadze said “For the seventh time, Batumi is hosting this big congress “Geoanesthesia” in which international experts take part. It is especially important for our colleagues because it is here that innovations and information or experience based on the latest research are shared with each other.”
In addition he said “This year the conference is particularly important since the component of nursing services and sharing news in this direction has been added to the list of topics as well. So all the nurses will have the opportunity to participate in this event as well. I would like to thank the organizers and wish success to all the delegates. All the best.”
It is worth noting that during the two-day conference medical experts from different countries will participate in addition to Georgian speakers. The congress brings together anesthesiologists-reanimatologists, toxicologists and emergency medicine specialists.
Moreover this year’s conference also includes topics like anesthesiology-reanimatology and pain treatment, problems faced by nurses in paediatrics and emergency medicine and the third topic is development in the radiological direction with a special focus on this year’s innovations in the field of anaesthesia.
The conference is held annually in different countries and is organised by the Union of Anesthesiologists-Reanimatologists of Georgia, the Government of Adjara and Tbilisi State Medical University, Batumi.
The conference is also supported by Rustaveli State University, the School of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Georgia, the Associations of Emergency Medicine Doctors and Clinical Toxicologists, Batumi Republican Clinical Hospital etc.
