Georgia: The Minister of Justice of Georgia Anri Okhanashvili has appointed Giorgi Dgebuadze as New Deputy Minister of the Nation. This information was shared by the Georgian Ministry of Justice on February 17, 2025, 2025, Monday.
The official announcement from the Ministry of Justice highlights the academic and professional credentials of the minister along with his previous holdings.
According to the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, Giorgi Dgebuadze is a Doctor of Law and an Associate Professor at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. He held the position of Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Law of Tbilisi State University in the direction of International Relations and Scientific Research.
The Ministry stated, “Giorgi Dgebuadze is the author of several scientific works; he has many years of academic experience at universities both in Georgia and abroad; he has worked at various times on research projects at the International Law Institute of Peace and Security at the University of Cologne and the Max Plank Freiburg Institute of International Criminal Law I; was the International Criminal Court of Appeal at The Hague (ICC) Guest Speaker of the Chamber.”
It is also noteworthy that the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, under Minister Okhanashvili’s leadership, has been active in international cooperation. In February 2025, the ministry signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the State Secretariat for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications of Andorra, aiming to enhance collaboration in digital technologies, e-governance, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
These developments reflect the Georgian government’s commitment to strengthening its legal framework and international partnerships.
