Georgia: Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, has slammed David Arakhamia, the head of the Servant of the People party faction in Ukraine, for his recent remarks that the West should impose sanctions on GD founder Bidzina Ivanishvili “for assisting Russians to circumvent sanctions.”
The head of the Servant of the People party faction in Ukraine also stated yesterday that Ivanishvili is a Georgia “Yanukovych.”
“Arakhamia is in radical opposition in Georgia (associated with the United National Movement) while he is in power and holding a prominent position in Ukraine,” Kobakhidze stated, adding that “more will be revealed about Arakhamia after the conflict.”
Moreover, Kobakhidze went on to say that it is Ukraine which has “Yanukovych,” not Georgia, referring to currently imprisoned ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili, who led the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian National Reforms Council before being detained in Tbilisi last year.
Kobakhidze has accused the UNM and its affiliated people of “making the fake like the audiotape” that was made public yesterday.
Furthermore, the recording was uploaded on an online platform, YouTube, which was followed by Arakhamia’s remarks entitled “hidden emissary from Moscow arrives in Tbilisi.”
According to the anonymous user, Russian oligarch Vladimir Yevtushenkov called Ivanishvili twice in March to get around sanctions imposed on Russia for its aggression in Ukraine and then sent his man to Tbilisi “for business,” claiming that Ivanishvili sent the man to Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
