Romanian Ambassador meets University students

Razvan Rotundu the Romanian Ambassador to Georgia held a meeting with students and participants of the project “UG Ambassadors” today at the University of Georgia. They also discussed many bilateral issues.

It is to be specifically mentioned that at the beginning of the conversation the ambassador of Romania also spoke about the history of bilateral relations between Georgia and Romania and the meeting was held in a question-and-answer mode afterward. The speakers gave the answers to the answers of queries raised by students and other participants as well.

On this occasion the young people and university students who were interested in international relations talked with Mr. Ambassador about the modern challenges of the Black Sea region and other topical issues. Moreover In addition, the Romanian Ambassador also shared his professional experience with the attendees of the meetings as well.

After the discussion Mr. Razvan Rotundu also met Konstantine Topuria the Rector of the University of Georgia and discussed the prospects and plans for future cooperation between both countries. They also discuss the measures to boost the cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Georgia.

Notably the Georgia–Romania relations are very strong and stable. Moreover Currently Georgia is represented through an embassy in Bucharest. Similarly, a consulate in Constanța was also established. On the other hand, Romania also has an embassy in Tbilisi (the capital city of Georgia). It was the 25th of June 1992 when both countries officially established their diplomatic relations.

Together with Azerbaijan Georgia and Romania are part of the Azerbaijan–Georgia–Romania Interconnector (AGRI) project. This significant project aims to transport Azerbaijani natural gas to the Black Sea coast of Georgia where it will be liquefied by due process and taken to the Romanian Black Sea port of Constanța.

The University students also shared their views with the key speakers of the meeting so that more measures can be implemented for future cooperation.
