Georgia: Tbilisi International Airport became ISAGO certification

Tbilisi International Airport of Georgia has successfully been accredited under the IATA’s Safety Audit for Ground Operations program(ISAGO). The accreditation covers the services under areas like organization and management, loading control, passenger transportation, baggage, and air cargo services.

This latest development of ISAGO certification confirms that Tbilisi International Airport carries out its ground services as per international security standards and fully complies with IATA requirements and recommendations.

This will make the airport facility more realibale. Moreover, the Tbilisi International Airport will become even more attractive for new airlines interested in the Georgian aviation market as having an ISAGO certificate guarantees them safe operation, high quality, and international regulations.

It is to be added that the accreditation process included a group of employees of the respective departments of Tbilisi International Airport, whose efforts and efficient work led to the successful completion of the certification within the stipulated time.

The IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) is the aviation industry’s global, world-recognized program for oversighting the land service providers. ISAGO further provides standardization of operating procedures and enhances the harmonization of best practices in the aviation industry.

The accreditation process at Tbilisi International Airport was started in 2023. ISAGO accreditation will be granted to the company for a period of 2 years after which it will be renewed again as well by IATA.

Accreditation become even more important today as the main shareholder of Tbilisi International Airport has become the French ADP Group which is operating in 110 airports worldwide.

On the other hand, the airport management while expressing their happiness on this achievement shared this information on their official Facebook page. The management also posted an image of the certificate of accreditation with this post.

Soon after the announcement of the achievement by airport authorities on social media platforms people started to comment the congratulations messages.

The Facebook users Teko Tea Gabatashvili, Zezva Tsabauri, and Shalva Mesxishvili commented the “congratulations” while reacting to the Facebook post of the airport. People also expressed hopes that this will also boost the local economy with the increase in footfall of passengers.
