The prominent non-governmental organisation of country, helping hands has launched a new project. The new project under implementation is the “Young Leaders for Climate Change”.
While taking to its social media handles, the representative of NGO shared the information about this project. The official Facebook page stated, “The NGO “Helping Hand” is implementing the project “Young Leaders for Climate Change”.
At the same time the official Facebook page added, “The project aims to strengthen the capacities of young people in the process of mitigating and adapting to the risks caused by climate change; the planned activities will help young people (16-24 years old) understand their rights and responsibilities.”
The implementation of project will also contribute to increasing their involvement in the local community. The project is implemented with the support of ‘GIZ’. At the first stage of the project, young people selected through a competition will be trained as peer educators and will undergo a training course on climate change and environmental volunteering issues and at the next stage, young people will share the knowledge and experience they have gained with their peers in the format of educational meetings.
It is worth to note that the project’s peer educators will also develop and implement small projects in their municipalities. Young people aged 16-24 from Dusheti, Kaspi, Kareli and Marneuli can participate in the project. Applications are being accepted electronically until February 20 of this year.
The NGO while sharing further information urged interested young members of come forward for participation on this project. According to them this will make young ready for spreading awareness on issues of environmental issues including climate changes also.
As we know the issues of climate change and global warning has created multiple problems. The many experts related to environmental issues said this project was need of hour. They also expressed happiness that the the members of project after training will make the country safe on climate issues as well.
