Tbilisi: The prosecutor’s office charged one person for the offence of intentional homicide. The alleged crime happened in Sachkheri Municipality of Georgia.
As per the information of the office the accused is a minor who committed a heinous crime and has now been charged under the relative section of the Georgia code of criminal procedure.
After receiving the information the Ministry of Internal Affairs ordered an in-depth investigation. The investigation carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that on July 26 in the village of Gorisa, Sachkheri municipality on the football field the accused injured the victim with a knife in the chest .
He attacked the victim following a heated argument. The victim received multiple bodily injuries. He was immediately taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead. On the very next day of the incident July 27 the law enforcement officers arrested the accused minor to take action as per the Georgian criminal code.
As soon as the law enforcement officers arrested him he was charged under Article 108 (intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Under the mentioned section the accused person can be sentenced to 10 to 15 years of jail term if he is found guilty after the conclusion of the trial.
Meanwhile the prosecutor’s office has already applied to the court with a motion to extend the prison term to the accused as a preventive measure. The move to confine the accused behind bars is to prevent him from damaging the evidence or threatening the witness of the crime.
It is worth noting that the increasing crime rate is being considered a matter of concern. The prosecutor’s office in coordination with other agencies has been working to improve the situation to overcome the increasing crime rate.
Representatives of law enforcement agencies have stated that in the coming days more initiatives will be taken to maintain law and order in the country. The involvement of Minors is also a serious concern. Law enforcement agencies are working around the clock to prevent minors from entering the world of crime.
