Georgia: In honor of International Women’s Day, Georgian celebrate the extraordinary story of Oresta Osiichuk, a Ukrainian writer whose resilience and determination have inspired countless individuals worldwide.
The journey was not easy, but through dedication and perseverance, Oresta embraced the opportunity to participate in the art therapy sessions, which extended far beyond their planned duration. Over the course of three months, these sessions became a cornerstone of Oresta’s life, providing her with solace and a platform for profound transformation.
During her time in Tbilisi, Oresta not only found healing but also began crafting her next literary masterpiece. Surrounded by a supportive community of peers and fellow Ukrainians, Oresta’s creativity flourished, fueled by the therapeutic nature of the art sessions and the embrace of the vibrant Ukrainian community self-help groups.
The impact of Revival’s initiatives extended beyond Oresta’s personal journey. Through their project “Resilient Civil Society and Media Respond to the Ukraine War,” Revival provided needs-based training and workshops to 14 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), empowering them to support Ukrainians and strengthen their capacity to continue their vital work.
Since March 2023, over 1000 beneficiaries have received support from CSO service grants, ranging from Georgian language lessons for Ukrainians to psychological support, employability training, and legal consultations. These initiatives have not only provided practical assistance but have also served as a beacon of hope for individuals like Oresta, demonstrating the transformative power of community and resilience.
Oresta’s story serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of courage and determination in the face of adversity. Her journey reminds us that even in the darkest of times, there are endless possibilities for growth and inspiration for those who dare to pursue their passions.
