Tbilisi: Irkali Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia chaired a high-level meeting. The meeting aimed to discuss the country’s growth journey and challenges in addressing the unemployment rate.
Many ministers and higher officials from different Government departments were present on this occasion as well. They shared information and suggestions that could be implemented for the country’s overall economic development.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Irakli Kobakihdze also shared glimpses of this meeting on his social media handles. PM stated in his official Facebook post “I started today’s government session by talking about high economic growth rates and unemployment reduction.”
“Second-quarter unemployment is at an all-time low of 13.7%, and more people working means more taxes in the budget which will allow the Government to implement new projects,” added the Prime Minister.
As per the decision of the Government more than 1000 military personnel will be given apartments in newly built buildings this year. The project will continue and the corresponding amount will also be included in next year’s budget.
On this occasion the Government representative also decided to erect a monument in memory of King Erekle II on the Kakheti highway. According to the Prime Minister it is the Government’s duty to pay due respect to Georgia’s history and all its heroes.
Meanwhile the cabinet of Ministers approved the decree on the basis of which the Olympians will receive the promised awards and prizes. This time an increased award will be given to Olympian coaches, doctors, and members of the administrative team.
In addition the Prime Minister stated that ” Nino Salukvadze and Lasha Shavdatuashvili will be nominated for the Order of Victory named after St. George and Guram Tushishvili and Lasha Margvelashvili will be nominated for the Order of Honor.
PM also congratulated Kote Petriashvili on winning the Junior World Championship title and Nikoloz Maisuradze on winning the Vice Championship. He also said that Georgians are on the way to success and everything will be done to promote this trend in the field of sports.
