A lecture was held on Thursday on clean water and hygiene for students of 12th grade at public school number five in Poti. This lecture was organised under the youth environment competition.
A prize namely Niko Ketskhoveli School Prize is also given every year to student under this competition as well. Â This prize was created in year 2015 by CENN. The main objective of this competition was to apprised students about different goals related to sustainable development.
The management of Poti Public School number 5 itself took to social media handles and shared this information. The glimpses of this event were also shared on official Facebook page of school.
It is worth mentioning that, the youth competition along with many other things also aimed to show them the possibilities of implementing changes with their own hands to improve the natural and social environment. Those involved in the competition themselves will become participants in the sustainable development process.
The organizer of the competition activities at our school is a XII grade student Tatia Todua, teacher was Irma Khoshtaria. She during this lecture share thought on multiple issues as well. Â The goal of the lecture was to provide classmates with information about the importance of clean water and its global challenges and the need for hygiene habits.
At the same time special attention was paid to the 6th goal of sustainable development, which concerns the provision of clean water and sanitation. During the lecture, students were given practical advice on protecting water resources and improving hygiene habits.
The activity also has an interactive and motivating environment that promoted awareness-raising. As a result of the lecture, students better understood the importance of these issues and their role in sustainable development.
The water crisis has become serious issue in many countries across globe. The Georgian government and ministry of environmental protection is initiative number of steps to stop water pollution.
