Kojori, Georgia: The project “Army camp” in Kojori officially opened on Monday, June 17, 2024. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Deputy Prime Minister Irakli Chikovani, and Education, Science, and Youth Minister Giorgi Amilakhvar addressed the schoolchildren.

They discussed young people’s active involvement in the army and wished them good luck. The Minister of Defense thanked Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for supporting defense forces and youth policy development.

The Ministry of Defense has expanded the project. In Kojori, parallel to the Sergeant Academy named after Giorgi Ancukhelidze, “Army camps” were organized in Sachkhere, the mining training school named after Colonel Besik Kutateladze. In Akhalkalaki, Senior Sergeant Zaza Feradze’s starting combat training center was organized.

Summer “Army Camp” is implemented by the Defense Agency, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, and the SP Youth Agency. Students of 9th, 10th, and 11th grades participate in the project.

For summer “Army Camp” for young people, all conditions have been created so that each participant’s experience is active, interesting, conscious, fun, different, and full of news. Children will learn about military disciplines and be involved in fire drills, topography, and military navigation. They will also undertake a first aid and self-defense course and take part in engineering and mining.

The camp program also includes exciting conversations with Kotson. Students will meet with representatives of the Defense Forces, including special operations battalion service members, military historians, and representatives of the Patriarchate. The clergy will introduce young people to the centuries-old relationship between the Church and the military and the stories of the distinguished saint’s knights.

“Army Camp” is a project initiated by the Department of Strategic Communications and Public Relations of the Ministry of Defense. Last year, it was implemented in pilot mode. The summer camp aims to raise a patriotic spirit in the younger generation, promote healthy lifestyles, and increase awareness of the Georgian army.
