A warning has been issued by Georgian ministry of internal affairs to protesters. The ministry warned them not to create any law-and-order problem and hold protest rallies within legal limits.
As per the statement of ministry which has been issued on Sunday, “All organisers as well as the attendees of protest rallies should maintain law and order. They should follow instruction of law enforcement agencies. Moreover, they have to express their dissent against any government order as per legal provision of Georgian law”.
While speaking further authorities added that although law gives everyone a right to protest but this is right to available to only those who will hold protest rallies peacefully and under the legal framework of Gorgia.
At the same time statement from ministry of internal affairs also added that, is any organiser of rally of attendee of this rally tried to disturb law and order they will be death strictly as per provision of Georgian law.
The statement also added, the ministry wants to share with public as well as those protesting that the international roads have very special importance and should remain opened even when there is any kind of protest. The resolution number 361 is also referred by internal affairs ministry.
The resolution number 361 includes roads in list of objects having strategic and special importance, The resolution also calls for strict action against those who take law in their own hand to cause traffic disruption on roads, national highways.
So, it has been made clear by ministry that under above mentioned article the blockage of blocking an object of strategic or special importance is a crime. Moreover, on committing this crime the guilty can be punished under law.
The individual person found to be guilty can be sent to two-year jail term. Whereas committing above-mentioned offences in group can invite penalty up to two or four years.
The ministry further revealed that employees had been deployed everywhere to control anti-social elements at protest sites. Many rallies have been planned on Sunday in Tbilisi and other cities of Georgia.
