The construction of the highway between Roshka and Arkhoti is in full swing. The road’s total length is 36 and it will ease vehicle movement after completion.
According to the information available so far there was no access road to the village. Moreover under this project, up to 36 km of road will be cut and rehabilitated. Out of this total 36 km 28 km will be constructed totally new.
It is to be noted that the work of cutting the 11 km highway was completed in 2023. In the next segment the road to the village of Amgha will be cut this year and the project will be completed in 2025.
Recently the road construction site was visited by Irakli Karseladze, the Minister of Reginal Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. After the visit the minister shared his views on the project’s progress.
As per the Minister “The most important project is underway on the Barisakho-Roshka-Arkhoti-Amgha-Chimgha internal state road. The cutting and rehabilitation of the 11 km section of the 36 km road has already been completed and the rest of the work will also be completed soon. Similarly the rehabilitation of the 6 km section of the road and the construction of a new 18 km road are underway.”
The minister further revealed that “the construction of a road is systematically planned, but the road is being widened so that movement on it is not only comfortable but also safe.” At this stage the works of cutting the land, bringing it to the road markings, arranging artificial structures and constructing bridge crossings and pipe bridges are in progress. The new road will be equipped with all measures necessary for travelers’ safe journeys.
Notblay’s project is being implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure. It is being financed by 26 million GEL from the state budget. The road will make smooth road traffic and reduce travel time.
