The Mayor of Sagarejo Municipality Avtandil Gulikashvili, recently met with representatives from the vocational Training and Retraining Center. These centres are also known as the “Farmers’ School” located in Ninotsminda.
The meeting of Mayor was aimed to review a a detailed report on the centre’s work and to engage in discussions about future collaboration between the municipality and the training centre.
It is worth to note that “Farmers’ School” are a vocational training and retraining centre. These were established by the Lazarus Charitable Foundation, a project operated under the auspices of the Patriarchate of Georgia.
Moreover, these training centre focusing on enhancing vocational education in rural areas, tailoring its programs to the specific needs of local residents and farmers of different region as well.
It is also to be noted that this initiative is part of a broader effort by the Patriarchate of Georgia to promote vocational education and support sustainable livelihoods in the agricultural sector for future generation as well.
Notably one of the most remarkable features of these training centre is its commitment to providing free training opportunities. The centre with their funding from both the Patriarchate and the state, trainees can learn a variety of essential skills without paying any fee.
Some of training courses includes beekeeping, fruit tree pruning and shaping, forest guard training, fruit tree protection, as well as the ornamental garden maintenance. These programs have been designed to equip participants with practical skills that can help them thrive in agricultural professions, improving both their personal livelihoods and the local as well as national economy.
The “Farmers’ School” boasts of it for the modern infrastructure to support its training efforts. The training centre includes two hectares of cultivated land, where students can gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting by doing practical. Additionally, the centre operates a fully equipped apiary, offering practical training in beekeeping to its students.
The educational facilities at the centre besides other things also include a library, an auditorium for theoretical classes, and a laboratory where bee products are processed, further enhancing the learning experience for students.
