Tbilisi: The President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili addresses an event organised by Hudson institute. She addresses this event online held under theme “Georgia on your mind”.
The event held on Thursday discusses multiple issues with special focus on deepening political crisis in the country. The other speaker besides Georgian President includes former Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations and U.S. Ambassador to NATO Kurt Volker, Chair of the Helsinki Commission Joe Wilson.
The other who addressed attendee includes U.S. Representative, Hudson Institute President and CEO John P. Walters McCain Institute Senior Director of Global Democracy Programs Laura Thornton, Centre on Europe and Eurasia Senior Fellow Luke Coffey.
The Georgian President in his address has blamed once again the ruling party of Georgia for creating political chaos in Georgia. She also urged international community to act against the leaders and office-bearer of ruling party Georgian Dream.
According to President Russia through its friends in ruling party Georgian Dream want to influence Georgia in all aspects. Moreover, same tactics were also used by Russia in other countries including Ukraine with whole Russia locked horns almost three years ago.
She said that Georgia interest is safe with west. President condemned the recent visit of Georgina Prime Minister to Iran. President along with Russia also warned China for any illegal interference in Georgian internal matters.
On the other hand, Joe Wilson, U.S. Representative while addressing to participants said, The relation between Georgia and Russia were very string in past, but the regime of Bidzina Ivanishvili will pose a serious threat this past strong bilateral relations also.
Similar another speaker also expressed their serious concerns about ongoing development in Georgia. Luke Coffey also underlines that Georgia’s future is safe with its integration into European Union.
He also stressed that a stable Georgia government is in interest of United States of America. Moreover, if USA want safe supply of oil, gas that protecting Georgia from external threat is very important. Notable Georgian President is also demanding re-election of October 26 election.
