Tbilisi: The team of special investigation services of Georgia have arrested a patrol inspector for committing violence on wife. He is also booked for hurting death threat to his wife.
The information in this regard have been shared on social media handles by official of special investigation services. As per information shared on official Facebook page, “The investigation revealed that the accused during his cohabitation with wife repeatedly committed physical violence and also hurled deadly threats against his wife.”
The investigation further revealed that on January 14, 2024, in a residential apartment in Tbilisi in the presence of his minor child, the accused physically assaulted his wife, grabbed her chin and then pulled her hair. Moreover, accused also threatened to kill his wife. The law enforcement officer continued to abuse and threaten his wife since many last years.
The Special Investigation Service immediately investigated the matter after the victim reported the incident. Moreover, the urgent investigative actions were carried out and the victim and witnesses were interviewed. The law enforcers also took audio recording containing a death threat was hurled by wife against his wife. These all evidence have proved incriminating evidence.
After obtaining evidence, based on a court ruling, the patrol inspector was detained by the employees of the Special Investigation Service. The Special Investigation Service completing the investigation into the case under Article 126 (Prima), Part Two, Subparagraph “b” and Article 11 (Prima), Part Two, Subparagraph “d” of Article 151 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The law enforcement officer will be produced before court of law within the time limit established by law. The charge imposed against accused are very serious and strict.
The legal experts expected that if after trial guilt of accused is proved he may be awarded three years of imprisonment. At the same time SIS officials warned public against any act under domestic violence.
